چکیده

Formation of circumstellar resonant lines of Na I and Ca II in type Ia supernovae is studied for the case, when supernova explodes in a binary system with a red giant. The model suggests a spherically-symmetric wind and takes into account ionization and heating of the wind by X-rays from the shock wave and by gamma-quanta of Ni radioactive decay. For the wind density typical of the red giant the expected optical depth of the wind in Na I lines turnes out low (τ < 10) to detect the absorption. For the same wind densities the predicted optical depth of Ca II 3934 Å is sufficient for the detection (τ > 0.1). I conclude that the absorption lines detected in SN 2006X cannot form in the red giant wind; they are rather related to clouds at distances larger than the dust evaporation radius (r > 10 cm). From the absence in SN 2006X of Ca II absorption lines not related with the similar Na I components I derive the upper limit of the mass loss rate by the wind with velocity u: Ṁ < 10(u/10 km s) M⊙ yr .

CIRCUMSTELLAR Na I AND Ca II LINES IN TYPE IIP SUPERNOVAE AND SN 1998S

We study a possibility of detection of circumstellar absorption lines of Na I D1,2 and Ca II H,K in spectra of type IIP supernovae at the photospheric epoch. The modelling shows that the circumstellar lines of Na I doublet will not be seen in type IIP supernovae for moderate wind density, e.g., characteristic of SN 1999em, whereas rather pronounced Ca II lines with P Cygni profile should be det...

Time-varying sodium absorption in the Type Ia supernova 2013gh

Context. Temporal variability of narrow absorption lines in high-resolution spectra of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) is studied to search for circumstellar matter. Time series which resolve the profiles of absorption lines such as Na I D or Ca II H&K are expected to reveal variations due to photoionisation and subsequent recombination of the gases. The presence, composition, and geometry of circu...

The Evolution of the Peculiar Type Ia Supernova Sn 2005hk over 400 Days

UBV RI photometry and medium resolution optical spectroscopy of peculiar Type Ia supernova SN 2005hk are presented and analysed, covering the pre-maximum phase to around 400 days after explosion. The supernova is found to be underluminous compared to ”normal” Type Ia supernovae. The photometric and spectroscopic evolution of SN 2005hk is remarkably similar to the peculiar Type Ia event SN 2002c...

As the first step in a comprehensive, comparative, direct analysis of the spectra of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), we use the parameterized supernova synthetic–spectrum code, Synow, to interpret 26 spectra of the well–observed SN 1994D. Our results are consistent with the traditional view that the composition structure (element abundance fractions versus ejection velocity) is radially stratified...

We present observations of the Type Ia supernova 2003du obtained with the HobbyEberly Telescope (HET) and report the detection of an unusual, high-velocity component in the Ca II infrared triplet near 8000 Å, similar to features previously observed in SN 2000cx and SN 2001el. This feature exhibits a large expansion velocity (≈ 18,000 km s) which is nearly constant between −7 and +2 days relativ...
